Sleep issues and sundowning oftentimes prove frustrating for caregivers, but there are quite a few ways to reduce their happening. Healthline offers tried and tested tips such as maintaining a routine schedule, keeping the home well-lit in the later afternoon and early evening, and filling the day with activities. The National Institute on Aging also provides helpful strategies, including but not limited to exploring the direct causes, taking short naps during the day, abstaining from alcohol and caffeine, and discussing the issues with their doctor.
