Living in the COVID-19 pandemic has been stressful and confusing, to say the least. For people with dementia and their carers, these feelings are exacerbated. In this article by Heidi de Marco, the lives of Daisy and her grandson, Erik, were thrown into a whirl. Now his grandmother’s sole caregiver, Erik is one of 16 million Americans caring without pay for someone with some form of dementia or memory loss. The challenges of quarantine, new stresses, and disorder are experienced by individuals like Daisy and Erik.
